5 Minute Butter Bean Mash
Butter bean mash with steak.
Butter beans, Thyme, and liquid.
Mashed with a masher and seasoning.
Ingredients:
Serves 1-2 | 5-minute cook | 163 calories
1 Tin of butter beans
Couple of springs of thyme
Salt and pepper
Optional - can add 1/4 - 1/2 cup of veg stock to mash, and or butter and milk combo.
Instructions:
Step 1: Half drain the beans
Half drain the beans and keep the other half for juice to mash.
Option 2:
Drain the whole tine of beans and substitute for 1/4 cup of veg stock, or use a milk and butter combo.
Step 2: Cook the beans
Add a few sprigs of thyme and the beans with the 1/4 - 1/2 a can of liquid to a saucepan and heat for a few minutes until warm.
Step 3: Add salt and pepper and mash.
After a few minutes mash the beans, you can also blend if you like them super soft.
Taste and adjust the seasoning to your likening.
Pairs well with a steak and is a lower calorie and quicker cook to mashed potato.
